Desktop Calendar for June

Check out the June Calendar at left. Yes, that's my car.

I spent about 3 hours by the carnival shooting various angles and such, in all that time, I drew a little crowd and all told me the car was nice.

One gentleman came up with a stroller and asked if it was a BMW, he was quite surprised when I told him it was just a Honda.

He then got his kids to take pictures with the car.

I feel special.

My new anthem

Two posts in one day. I know, right?

Anyway, I've been looping this song pretty much for the last hour. Forget the fact that Amerie is crazy hot, I'm not posting this video because she's attractive.

I am totally feeling the lyrics. They're not the most profound lyrics ever written, you don't have to tell me that. But listening to it makes me realize that I've been slacking in my business planning and execution. I'm not where I want to be in life, because I've been taking the easy laid-back route.

Well once I get the stupid backyard out of the way, watch out. Big plans.

April showers bring May flowers weeds

I was working out in the basement this afternoon when I looked through my window and saw the abundant of weeds that have grown outside my window. I am so not a green thumb.

Anyway I saw the first picture and was instantly inspired to crawl outside, braving the wet weather to take a couple of shots. Turned out I got four that I like.

Click the below picture to view them. You'll need Adobe Flash.

Asian fusion

I don't think that when people talk about "Asian fusion" in food, they're talking about Beefaroni in a can with soya sauce chicken.

But hey, it was my lunch, and it still tasted awfully swell.

Or awful swill. You decide.

One more rep

It's been a while since I've worked out regularly. The backyard is sapping any will to hit the weights. I'm still not done the backyard. Progress has slowed to a crawl, simply because with anything, I get bored of it and would like to move on.

That's why I decided to make a conscious effort to be a wedding photographer. I don't get bored, ever. It is always exciting, it is always fresh. And even when it's 3am in the morning and I'm post-processing away, I am happy.

Okay, well I'm lying a bit about being happy. I'm actually antsy. Antsy because I want to do the best job possible, the present my client with the best wedding book I can provide for them - and those last 4 pixel at the top/left corner looks about two shades too dark....

I think successful wedding photographers are that way because they enjoy their job. I've spoken to several of them, and they always say the same thing - they love their job because they feed off other people's happy energy.

I may not be "successful" on a financial level (yet), but the joy it brings me when I see the finished product and the couple's reaction really gives me a natural high.

Okay, back to the backyard then.

Hammer to computer = fix

All right, it's not that dire actually.

I finally figured out what was wrong with my computer - bad ram. I removed all the sticks in the computer and tried adding them one at a time. I now have a fairly stable platform to work with again. Yippie.

If Chinese egg tarts aren't the best culinary creations in the world, well I don't know what is.

Chinese egg tarts are like pizza. Even when it's pretty bad, it's still pretty good.

[EDIT!] As soon as I type this entry, the computer BSODed on me yet again. Groan.
