sometimes a warranty does work

Well title says it all. My Nikon SB-600 Flash did not turn on sometime last month. I don't know if it's because I banged it or whatever, but fresh battery did not bring it to life.

I didn't have a Nikon warranty card, and no proof if purchase. I gave them the flash, which had the serial number. With that, they found out the flash was sold to the dealership June of last year.

Long story short, they replaced the circuit board and I didn't have to pay for it.
